Syria in Shambles
Syria continues to lead headlines in the international and domestic news with a raging conflict that is tearing the nation apart. The civil war that is plaguing Syria does not discriminate in who it affects, newest statistics show that over 1,000 children have been killed or injured in 2018 already. The numbers of deceased, injured, and displaced refugees is astonishing and civilians continue to call out for help from the international community without answer. A strong sense has fallen over the people of Syria that the world has given up on them and is not supporting them in a time of major need. Constant bombing, missile strikes, and mortar shelling is a terrifying reality civilians are living in day after day with no cease in sight. Monday March 5th the United Nations attempted to deliver aid in a convoy of 46 trucks to Eastern Ghouta, unfortunately the convoy was forced to retreat early due to a barrage of shelling. The last thing that the United States needs is another extreme conflict with a foreign country. I wish Trump wouldn't be pulling out of these agreements just because the past president signed into them. Before we know it, we are going to have more enemies than allies.
